Holly Willoughby 'deeply upset' after Phillip Schofield released statement on their friendship

Holly Willoughby is 'deeply upset' after being blindsided by Phillip Schofield's statement on their friendship.

The presenting duo, who have hosted This Morning together since 2009, are reportedly 'barely speaking' off camera. Phillip, 61, who recently took three weeks off the show during his brother's child sex abuse trial, broke his silence regarding the state of his friendship with Holly, 42.

Phillip admitted that 'the last few weeks haven't been easy for us' as he opened up about the claims that Holly was distancing herself from him. Mother-of-three Holly was seemingly left blindsided by Phil's statement as she had 'no idea' he was going to speak out.

A source close to Holly told MailOnline that the first she heard about Phil's statement was when it was published online. "The last few weeks haven’t been easy for either of us. As I have said before, Holly is my rock," Phil told The Sun.

"We’re the best of friends — as always, she is an incredible support on screen, behind the scenes, and on the phone. Holly has always been there for me, through thick and thin. And I’ve been there for her."

Sources told the Mail's Katie Hind that their fallout comes after Phil didn't inform Holly that his brother Timothy faced child sex offence charges. She was reportedly in the dark about the ongoing case until Phil took time off the ITV show to avoid the limelight during the trial.

Sources close to Holly claim she is ‘deeply upset’ that she found out what was happening from a third party.
