Holly Willoughby celebrates birthday on ITV This Morning with sweet surprises from Phillip Schofield

Presenter Holly Willoughby is celebrating her birthday live on This Morning today.

Thursday morning's show kicked off with Phillip Schofield wishing Holly a happy birthday, before unveiling a couple of surprises for her.

Holly, who turns 41 today, was shocked and excited when her co-host revealed this is something she 'hasn't ever had before'.

This is the 13th birthday that Holly has celebrated whilst working on This Morning, which she described as her 'favourite show'.

This Morning then crossed over live to a cocktail maker at Brown's Hotel in London, who revealed he has invented a cocktail especially for Holly named the 'Willoughby'.

Phil then took Holly over to the kitchen where he unveiled they would be making the cocktail live alongside the mixologist.

Viewers then watched as an excited Holly and Phil followed along with recipe, which included tequila and champagne.

After making the specialist red drink, Holly cheered with Phil and said "Happy birthday.. to me," to which they both laughed.

But the surprises didn't stop there.

Her co-presenter and friend Phil then presented her some gloves before revealing her unique present.

Phil and This Morning gifted her a piece of the moon to hold in her hand.

"Something hit the moon, and a bit of the moon broke off. It was discovered in 2014 in Morocco," Phil explained.

"I can't believe it," Holly said as she held the piece, "I've got the moon in my hand."

"I can't think of a more incredible gift, thank you."

Holly has her own lifestyle and wellness brand name 'Wylde Moon'.

Taking to Instagram ahead of the show, Holly shared a picture with the caption: "13 years of birthdays on my favourite show… thank you @thismorning for always making it so special."

Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield were finally reunited on This Morning on Wednesday morning.

It has been weeks since the co-hosts have appeared on the ITV daytime show together, after both presenters have been absent from the show.

Phillip Schofield had been isolating at home since last Monday after testing positive for coronavirus, with Rochelle Humes, Alison Hammond, Vernon Kay and Josie Gibson each drafted in to replace him.

But before her return on Monday, Holly Willoughby had also been missing from the show for almost three weeks whilst filming her new programme on BBC One.
