Holly Willoughby breaks silence after fallout with This Morning co-host Phillip Schofield

Holly Willoughby has broken her silence after the reported tension between her and This Morning co-host Phillip Schofield. The presenter shared a post on Instagram for the first time since the saga this weekend (May 14), wishing a happy birthday to her sister.

As reported by the Mirror, she wrote: "It’s this Beautiful human’s birthday… have the greatest day today and always…I love you so much @ladywilloughby…" she posted.

The snaps of Holly smiling sweetly with her sister is a far cry from the storm surrounding her and former best pal, Phil. Despite this, fans still took the opportunity to send Holly messages of support on the post.

One fan wrote: "I only came over here to say that if the rumours are true, do not let anyone move you out of a job. Keep going Holly and happy birthday to your beautiful sister."

And Holly's sister sent her own message of support, adding: "Ahhhhhh. Side by side always. Love you." On Sunday May 14, ITV confirmed Holly and Phil will return to the This Morning sofa as usual on May 15.

It had been previously reported that Holly was so upset about their rumoured feud that she could be absent from work on Monday morning. But ITV officially confirmed to the Mirror: "Holly and Phillip will be back on the sofa tomorrow."

For the TV hosts- who have been embroiled in a number of controversies recently- it will be business as usual. Low points for the pair include jumping the queue to see the late Queen lying in state to Phil's brother facing trial for sex crimes.

And when Phil finally returned to screens in April, the mum-of-three was nowhere to be seen. Now, Holly has reportedly cut ties with her longtime TV co-host and close friend.

According to the Mirror, Holly, 42, has been pushing for ITV to make a decision on Phillips's future, which could provide her with the opportunity to rebrand herself.
