Holly Willoughby 'annoyed' as she is absent from This Morning for second day

Holly Willoughby described being 'annoyed' as she was forced to take leave from presenting ITV's This Morning.

The 41-year-old tested positive for coronavirus on Sunday, forcing her to miss the Dancing On Ice semi-finals, which she normally hosts alongside Phillip Schofield. She has also been replaced for her normal presenting role on the morning talk show.

On Monday, Phil told viewers he "thought he was immune" but that covid finally "got him" and the same has happened to his co-star. He said: "Holly is watching from home. I tell you, it's the strangest thing watching from home. And Dancing On Ice. It's so bizarre. Anyway, Holly we wish you well."

He has since given an update on his co-star's health as she continues to battle the dreaded virus. Phil has been checking in on Holly as they remain close friends even when not working.

He revealed that Holly was doing "fine", but admitted she was "annoyed" over the situation. He said: "Holly obviously has still got rona, so sending her massive love and texting her throughout the day, checking she is okay.

"She's fine, just annoyed, so lots of love and get well soon."

During Tuesday's episode, the host was joined by Josie Gibson who had stood in to replace Holly yet again. Fans have been delighted to see the ex-Big Brother contestant getting the 'presenting role that she deserves' on the main show.

This Morning airs weekdays from 10am on ITV and the ITV Hub
