Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield have confirmed their return to This Morning after a long break for the summer. The presenting duo hosted their final show on Friday, July 8 before taking their annual holiday.
But as the summer break comes to an end many This Morning viewers will be wondering when Holly and Phil will return to the popular daytime show, which airs on ITV. Ahead of their comeback, the pair have spoken about what they miss the most when they're off screens.
Phil explained: "Everyone knows everything about everybody, and that's nice…so I always miss that friendship group. But we all stay in touch outside of the show anyway, WhatsApping stuff and keeping up with everyone’s news.
"This Morning is more than just a show, it’s such a lovely group of people to come to work with and you do miss that - it’s not really a job! It's more than a job, it’s much much more than that… and I’m not gonna lie, This Morning is one of my support groups and that’s a lovely thing to have.
While Holly added: "As Phil says, we really have so much fun on the show. We're one great big family and that's what makes the show so special and unique. We definitely miss that during the summer, but we all stay in touch and will see each other during the break, so it's lovely to be on holiday mode together and catch up outside of the studio."
Holly and Phil have confimed they will be back on screens from Monday, September 5. Despite the long break, however, Phil admits it doesn't take any time to adjust back into work mode.
"Usually by then, I’m ready to come back," Phil explained. "I’ve found after previous summers that that happens quite quickly - but there is always a moment when that alarm goes off where you think, ‘How am I going to get this person in here [sat at home] to being that bloke on the telly?’ But before you know it, you’ve got ready, you’re in the car, the script is there, you see everyone again and off you go!"
