Holly Willoughby and her psychic banana go viral in Denmark ahead of England game

Holly Willoughby was delighted on Wednesday morning when she realised she had gone viral in Denmark.

The mum-of-three squealed with happiness as it was confirmed a clip of her on the ITV show was being shown in Copenhagen.

Ahead of England's match against Denmark, 40-year-old Holly decided to consult the psychic banana once again - and revealed that England will be successful in their latest football game.

As This Morning returned from an advert break, Holly told her co-host Phillip Schofield: "It’s official, we’ve gone viral in Denmark!

"A clip of us making our predictions with the psychic banana, wow, has gone behind enemy lines and has been shared in the Ofelia Square in Copenhagen."

As a shot of the public square was shown onscreen, Holly shouted: "Oh look at me! Alongside the caption: 'You are now officially a Euro 2020 hashtag hero This Morning.

"Well that's very friendly of them, isn't it?" she continued, as Phillip added: "Incredibly friendly of them."

"They’re very nice people aren’t they? Very nice," Holly then said, while Phillip admitted: "I've always loved the Danes, they're lovely people. Denmark is a gorgeous country."

"Do you know what? I've never been!" Holly replied, before accusing him of trying to steal the limelight: "Are you trying to get on that as well? Is this what's happening?"

Earlier on in Wednesday's episode, Holly and Phil were discussing the football when they decided to consult the banana.

"The only person that really, really knows though is this guy?" Holly said as she lifted up the piece of yellow fruit.

"If you haven't seen the psychic banana before, we ask it a yes or no question and then we cut the end off and if it's got a little 'yeh' in it for yes, it's yes, and a dot means no," she explained to viewers.

"So we are saying: Will England win tonight, yes or no?" she continued as she prepared to cut.

"Oh my gosh, it's a big fat yes!" she shouted as Phil cheered alongside her.

This Morning airs weekdays at 10am on ITV.
