Holly Hagan hits back at trolls with 'too much time on their hands' after being criticised over baby toy

Pregnant Holly Hagan was forced to defend herself after she was bombarded with negative comments over a toy she bought for her baby.

The Geordie Shore star, 30, is expecting her first child with husband Jacob Blyth. Holly has been getting ready to welcome her new arrival by kitting out the nursery - including the most recent addition of a ball pit for her little one to enjoy.

However, some were quick to criticise the purchase when Holly shared it with her Instagram followers. The comments section of the video showing the mam-to-be setting up the ball pit was quickly filled with unkind remarks from trolls about Holly's neutral colour choice.

Some followers slammed Holly for not opting for a more colourful ball pit, with some going so far as to say her baby wouldn't enjoy the toy because of the "bland" colour while others remarked that she would "regret" getting white balls as they would quickly get dirty. Holly quickly took to her Instagram Stories to shut down the negative comments.

"Guys, I've got the colour police in my DMs already because I got a white ball pit," she said in a video. "And I'm just like, how can anybody be bothered to care about what toys other people's children have?

"I can't imagine taking the time out of my day to send somebody a message because they had a ball bit that wasn't multi-coloured," she went on, laughing. "I can't believe I'm even coming on here to say this. I can't believe we're having this conversation."

Poking fun at herself, Holly continued: "I'm quite happy in my 'sad beige home' with my sad beige duvet and my sad beige headboard. But I've seen people be trolled over having beige in their house and not having any colour - why would anybody care about something like that?

"These people have clearly got too much time on their hands. I'm fully aware that our child needs colour for development, it's not something I'm going to deprive my child of."

Despite seeing the funny side to the saga, Holly was left reconsidering how much of her pregnancy journey she wants to share on Instagram. She wrote on her Stories: "As much as I can laugh about this, there's SO many intimate things I want to share with you all like how I want t give birth, how I want to feed, my birth story, photos etc. but I really don't think Instagram is a safe space to be able to do that."

Meanwhile, fans were quick to leap to Holly's defence. "Wow so many people vexed over what she's doing for HER OWN BABY, it's not your child it's hers. Nothing nice to say scroll by and keep to yourself," one person commented.

Another said: Honestly @hollyhaganblyth I don't know how you put up with some of these comments, they make me lose brain cells. By the way that ball pit is gorgeous and I don't know why people are so bothered by it."
