This Morning hosts Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby opened up about their boozy Christmas party with the ITV daytime show team on Tuesday afternoon.
The hosts opened their show on Wednesday with details of the Chelsea pub lunch, alongside the show’s stars including Alison Hammond, Dermot O’Leary and Rochelle Humes as well as Gok Wan and the Speakmans.
The This Morning show even gave a glimpse into the part, as they played a clip of the colleagues singing a rendition of Christmas carol O Come, All Ye Faithful – with special guests Chris Evans and pub-owner James Blunt making a surprise appearance for the sing-a-long.
In snaps from the event posted to social media, the This Morning troupe were seen sitting down at a large table in a private room to enjoy lunch, wine and pulling crackers – and were even treated to a speech from Friday host Alison.
Holly and Phil admitted some of them had been left a little worse for wear by the festivities as Holly said: “Not all members of the team are feeling alright this morning, let me tell you.”
“I don't know whether we should name names,” added Phil, before Holly chimed in and said: “Ellie,” in a stern tone.
“Who ended up on Alice Beer's utility room floor, with Emma, our deputy editor,” Phil revealed.
A laughing Holly added: “The flag was well and truly flown at the Christmas party yesterday.”
Phil then added: “The team have worked incredibly hard, and they did deserve a little bit of a break.”
However, one famous face was missing from the staff party, as the pair later told ITV viewers they had missed Josie Gibson, before they played a pre-recorded segment of her visiting an elf shop.
The pair explained that Josie unfortunately could not make the gathering alongside fellow This Morning stars.
This comes as This Morning favourites Alison and Josie are set to share Christmas dinner together this year after the pair established a tradition of spending the special festive day at Alison's Birmingham home.
Alison told the Table Manners podcast: “This year, I have quite a big household. My brother will be there, my son, Josie Gibson, 37, always comes with her little boy.”
“She was there last year and she's here this year. Then I've got my housemate Jason and his dog Bobby and that's it this year.”
Last year, Alison told her co-host Dermot O'Leary that Josie would be spending Christmas with her. Dermot replied saying he would love to ring in Christmas Day alongside the pair.
