Holland & Barrett's Manchester store considering changing its name in honour of Manchester City player on one condition

As focus turns to Manchester City's Champion's League semi-final decider against Real Madrid tonight, one city centre shop is considering changing its name in a show of support.

Wellness retailer, Holland & Barrett, is weighing up whether it should change its Manchester Market Street store sign in honour of Manchester City player, Erling Haaland. Football-mad colleagues at the store have suggested changing the sign to ‘Haaland and Barrett’, in homage to the goal scoring ace.

Holland & Barret's Chief Operating Officer, Anthony Houghton, has promised fans that if the brand's Instagram post reaches 1 million likes, he will consider changing the store sign. News of the lobby comes as record-breaking player is set to stun in the second leg of the Champions League Semi-Final with Real Madrid this evening.

Holland & Barrett Market Street Store Manager, Mark Madders, said: “Our colleagues are very excited ahead of tonight’s match and we want to honour Erling’s amazing record by changing our Market Street store name. We’ve even gone as far as mocking up what our new sign could look like”.

Holland & Barrett Chief Operating Officer, Anthony Houghton, added: “We love our Manchester colleague’s passion for football – be it Red or Blue– so I’ll make a promise, if our social post gets 1 million likes (or Haaland scores the winning goal) we’ll temporarily change the sign…”

After signing for Manchester City last summer, the football star disclosed his regime in the Haaland: The Big Decision documentary, explaining how circadian sleeping, ample sunlight, ice baths and a 6,000-calorie diet, were all key to his success.

As well as eating "quality food that is as local as possible", the striker revealed his uses a complex water filtration system and ensures he regulates his circadian rhythm with plenty of sunlight first thing in the morning.

Taking a leaf out of Haaland's book, Holland & Barrett is also helping football fans live like the Norwegian superstar, with four top tips to recreate his wellness routine.
