'Hogwarts Legacy' Definitive Edition, DLC Reportedly Canceled—Sequel Still in the Works

The previous speculations behind Avalanche Software developing a DLC for "Hogwarts Legacy" has greatly excited fans and gamers, but that is no longer happening according to the latest reports.

A rumored Definitive Edition is likewise reportedly no longer happening.

The success achieved by the game has led to players speculating if there will be more content added. That seems to no longer be the case, according to reports.

However, the rumored sequel is reportedly still in the works, which is definitely good news for fans of the game.

'Hogwarts Legacy' DLC, Definitive Edition Reportedly Canceled

Previous rumors claimed that "Hogwarts Legacy" is getting a "Director's Cut," but the latest reports are claiming that this was ultimately scrapped by the company. According to trust source Jason Schereier, Warner Bros. has already canceled the additional content supposedly coming for the game.

It should be noted that Avalanche Software has previously denied that they are working on a DLC for the game, and this was never confirmed by WB Games as well.

In the latest report, Schreier reveals that Warner Bros. has decided to ultimately cancel this DLC for "Hogwarts Legacy," as they cannot justify the price that they would charge customers for the expansion content. Alongside this, the plan was to release the DLC alongside a "Hogwarts Legacy Definitive Edition," which will bundle the base game and the expansion content in one.

It was then revealed by ComicBook Gaming that while Warner Bros. ultimately decided to be fair to gamers instead of charging excessively with this potential DLC, it still led to this content being shelved and never to be released for fans.

Avalanche Software, WB Still Working on Upcoming Sequel

The report further claims that this supposed DLC and Definitive Edition would have given "Hogwarts Legacy" new stories to explore for the game, particularly with the addition of a storyline about one character that was removed in its final release version.

While it was not revealed which character it is, speculations about it point to Sebastian Sallow, a recurring supporting character in the game.

However, the source claims that there is no need to worry about "Hogwarts Legacy's" future as Warner Bros. Games and Avalanche Software are still developing its anticipated sequel. This will reportedly be another story-based game, which will feature another plot in the Wizarding World franchise and not the previously rumored live service game.
