The Hockley Arts Club and Das Kino owners set to open new bar in Beeston

The owners of some of Nottingham city centre's most imaginatively decked out bars are set to expand to the suburbs - and 'hope to make Beeston proud'.

The brains behind The Hockley Arts Club, The Magic Garden, Das Kino and Penny Lane, are planning to open The Beeston Social as part of the town's £50m Beeston Square redevelopment.

Daniel Ellis, one of the directors of Fletchergate Industries, said the latest venture was at a very early stage but revealed: "We’re taking the best elements from our current venues to date and adding a pinch of extra panache.

"We're aiming to make The Beeston Social our best venue so far. We're excited to be involved with this forward-thinking scheme put together by Broxtowe borough council and we hope to make Beeston proud."

The first phase of the Beeston Square development will go soon go live, with the opening of the new Arc Cinema, in Station Road.

The eight-screen cinema will launch on Friday, May 28, in time for the bank holiday weekend.

Other proposals for the site include cafes and bars and a 132-bed apartment block.

Earlier this month Fletchergate Industries announced plans for a new city centre bar, The Blind Rabbit, at former Belgo restaurant in Weekday Cross, Nottingham.

Beeston is enjoying a post-Covid resurgence with the soon-to-open Pudding Pantry, new Turkish restaurant Anatolia and Ohannes gourmet burgers.
