The year 2023 might be known as the Year of the Goaltender in the Hockey Hall of Fame.
This year’s class was announced on Wednesday, with Henrik Lundqvist — the New York Rangers legend who ranks sixth all-time in wins — headlining, but he’s not the only netminder who got the call.
There’s also ex-Pittsburgh Penguins great Tom Barrasso (a former Vezina winner and rookie of the year) and the Detroit Red Wings’ Mike Vernon (who won two Stanley Cups) joining as part of the class.
