A new round of DLC is coming to Escape Academy, the award-winning escape room indie game from Coin Crew, iam8bit, and Skybound, and it has a mystery-flavored twist. Escape from the Past, the new DLC’s official name, sends you back in time to the academy of old, when all your teachers were students, and puts you in the shoes of Sandra Solange and Eel Barnes.
Someone has a grudge against the headmaster and isn’t afraid to act on it. After a tragic accident during a school trip, your job is solving a deadly mystery before the villain of the piece opens up a new staff vacancy.
The Escape from the Past DLC launches June 19, 2023, on Nintendo Switch, PC, PS4, and PS5. It’s part of Escape Academy’s season pass, or you can buy it separately for $9.99.
It adds five expansive new puzzles ranging from the practical – using kitchen materials to find a way out – to the bizarre, such as tampering with a rocket. Totally normal thing to have on a school campus.
If you’d rather wait and have it all in one package, Escape Academy: The Complete Edition is planned for digital release on Switch in fall 2023. It’ll cost $29.99 and include all existing DLC.
