Following a sell out run in October 2021, smash hit comedy show Shirley Valentine is returning to the Gaiety Theatre this spring.
Running from March 29 until April 2, tickets go on sale this Friday from 10am on Ticketmaster.ie.
Similar to the beloved 1989 film of the same name, Shirley Valentine follows a 42-year-old woman who takes a break from monotonous lifestyle and goes on a holiday with her best friend to Greece, where she begins to enjoy her newfound freedom.
Brought to audiences by the Willy Russell and starring Norma Sheahan as the title character, the show promises "an evening of laughter and triumph" as Shirley deals with a life that consists of a demanding husband, snooty neighbour and self-absorbed teens, all leading her to conversations with the wall.
Shirley's uplifting journey to self discovery is something audiences adored during the show's last run in Dublin.
Ahead of Shirley's return to the city, Norma said: "A good dose of Shirley Valentine is what we all need right now. Enough talking to the walls!
"And if you can’t get on hols yet, Shirley will give you a Greek Boost. Or help you rediscover your clitoris!
"Legend Willy Russell, the writer, zoomed us to create this Irish Shirley version. And he’s hoping to get to the glorious Gaiety for this run."
