Police believe a 70-year-old man — whose body was found on the roadside north-east of Adelaide last night — was killed in a hit-and-run.
About 9:45pm, emergency services received reports of a man lying on the road at Sedan, on the eastern side of the Mount Lofty Ranges.
Police found the body of a 70-year-old man from nearby Angas Valley on the side of Halfway House Road.
Officers from SA Police's major crash division attended the scene and have launched an investigation.
Police believe the man was the victim of a hit-and-run and have appealed for public assistance.
Anyone who might have information about the incident has been asked to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or online.
Halfway House Road — which runs between Sedan and Annadale — was closed to traffic for several hours but has since reopened.
The man is the 10th person killed on South Australia's roads this year, and the incident follows the deaths of a 42-year-old woman on Kangaroo Island and a 21-year-old man near Penola on Tuesday.
