Hit-And-Run Incident In Los Angeles Leaves Woman Severely Injured

Los angeles police car

Police in Los Angeles are currently on the lookout for the driver involved in a hit-and-run incident that resulted in severe injuries to a 63-year-old woman. The incident occurred on September 6 in the Sherman Oaks neighborhood when the victim was walking in a marked crosswalk on Costello Avenue.

According to the Los Angeles Police Department, the woman was struck by a black Hyundai sedan that was making a turn onto Costello Avenue. The driver of the sedan failed to stop, provide identification, or offer assistance to the injured woman before fleeing the scene by driving southbound on Costello Avenue and then westbound on Davana Terrance.

Video footage released by investigators captured the moment of the collision, showing the woman looking both ways before entering the crosswalk. The sedan then enters the frame, hitting the woman and causing one of her shoes to fly into the air. The impact of the collision leaves the woman hunched over on the ground as the car eventually comes to a stop.

Emergency responders from the Los Angeles Fire Department arrived at the scene and transported the severely injured woman to a local hospital for medical treatment. The victim's condition remains serious following the hit-and-run incident.

The vehicle involved in the incident is described as a black Hyundai sedan with four doors and tinted windows. Authorities are urging anyone with information about the driver or the vehicle to come forward and assist in the ongoing investigation.
