Ayrshire police are searching for a motorist who ploughed into a cyclist and fled the scene last night.
What's believed to be a red Ford Fiesta, smashed into the 52-year-old and his bike at around 6.35pm last night on the B752 Dubbs Road in Stevenston.
Officers say the victim sustained minor injuries was taken to University Hospital Crosshouse in Kilmarnock as a precaution.
Enquiries to trace the vehicle are ongoing and officers are today appealing for witnesses or anyone with information to come forward.
Sergeant Gordon Stewart, of Ayrshire's road policing unit, said: “We are asking for anyone who was in the area around the time of the crash, or anyone with information on the vehicle involved, to please get in touch.
“I would also urge anyone with dashcam footage that could assist our investigation to contact police.
“Anyone with information is asked to call Police Scotland on 101, quoting incident 2985 of 27 August.”
