Hit and run crash in Glasgow's east end leaves 17-year-old in hospital

A teenager was rushed to hospital following a crash in the east end of Glasgow this morning.

The smash, involving two vehicles, took place around 8am on Gartloch Road, near Glasgow Fort shopping centre.

Police were called to reports of a road crash involving a Vauxhall Corsa and an unknown car, which police say did not stop at the scene.

A 17-year-old man was taken by ambulance to Glasgow Royal Infirmary for treatment.

Enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances of the crash.

A Police Scotland spokeswoman said: “Around 8am on Friday, 17 June, police were called to Gartloch Road in Glasgow, following a report of a road crash involving a Vauxhall Corsa and an unknown car.

“The latter vehicle did not stop and a 17-year-old man was taken by ambulance to Glasgow Royal Infirmary for treatment.

“Enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances of the crash.”
