AN inn which is more than 180-years-old is up for sale in the Highlands.
The Fiddichside Inn, a locally-cherished venue in the Speyside village of Craigellachie in Moray, is on the market for £425,000.
Originally constructed in 1842 as refreshment rooms for railway workers, the Fiddichside was acquired by the Smith family in 1919 and dedicated themselves to preserving its character.
Mr and Mrs Smith bought the pub when their daughter Dorothy was a baby. After her marriage to Joe, Dorothy continued to run the pub until her death in 2009 whereafter Joe took over until his death in 2017.
Today, the inn preserves its historical features with a traditional bar with stone walls and a fireplace.
A refurbished cottage offers two double bedrooms with private bath or shower facilities, and overlooks the River Fiddich with access to outdoor pursuits like hill walking and fishing.
A newly added modern and spacious roofed decking area is branded "one of the most idyllic beer gardens in northeast Scotland" by sellers CCL Property.
The property agent said: "The Fiddichside Inn presents a rare opportunity for entrepreneurs and hospitality enthusiasts to own a piece of Scottish history.
"Its blend of traditional charm and contemporary amenities makes it an appealing destination for those seeking to invest in a thriving business with a strong reputation."
Reviews highly rate both the area and service of the inn and cottage accommodation.
