Simon Sebag Montefiore, award-winning British historian and writer, is back with a new book this year. Titled 'The World: A Family History', the book is expected to be released on November 21, 2022.
In 'The World: A Family History', Montefiore he tells how humanity evolved by the stories of different and famus families. The two-part book, which will be published by Hachette India, will tell the story of humankind in “a ground-breaking, single narrative that will forever shift the boundaries of what history can achieve”.
The begins with the story of a family some 9,50,000 years ago. In the coming pages, Montefiore takes the readers on an epic journey through the families that have shaped the world, including the Caesars, Medicis, Incas, Ottomans, Mughals, Bonapartes, Habsburgs, Zulus, Rothschilds, Rockefellers, Krupps and Churchills.
Commenting on the book, the publishers in a statement, "This is world history on the grandest and intimate scale – spanning centuries, continents and cultures, and linking grand themes of war, migration, plague, religion, medicine and technology to the people at the center of the human drama.”
Some of Montefiore's previous books are: 'Stalin: The Court of The Red Tsar', 'Jerusalem: The Biography', 'Written in History: Letters That Changed the World', among others.
