Attacked on Himachal buses in Punjab

Chandigarh: Himachal Pradesh Road Transport Corporation (HRTC) buses were attacked again at Hoshiarpur bus stand in Punjab, raising serious questions on the safety of passengers and employees. In this incident last night, the glass of 6 buses were broken and objectionable words were written on the vehicles. Earlier also Himachal buses were targeted.

According to Dynamite News correspondent, this not only increases the sense of insecurity for the passengers of Himachal, but can also give rise to tension between the two states.

The front glasses of buses of Dehra, Una, Hamirpur and Pathankot depots were broken at night at Amritsar bus stand. Apart from this, objectionable words have also been written on the buses. After this attack, the question arises that who is responsible for the safety of Himachal Pradesh buses and their employees? Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann had assured the safety of HRTC buses, but this incident weakened those promises.

The Chief Minister and Deputy Chief Minister of Himachal Pradesh should take immediate cognizance of this matter. HRTC drivers and conductors are ready to serve the passengers day and night, in such a situation, ensuring their safety should be the priority of the government. After this incident, public outrage is increasing in the state and there is a demand for the government to take strict action against the culprits.
