An Ayrshire grandad has become a TikTok sensation after dressing as his idol Elvis to go see the King's biopic at the cinema.
Hound dog John Lawrie, 59, surprised his daughter Ashley Lawrie by showing up to the Kilmarnock Odeon last Friday dressed as Elvis.
The dad-of-two and granddad to four from Prestwick, who rubber-legged his way to the evening showing of Elvis, has amassed over 436,000 views and over 25,000 likes on Ashley's TikTok page.
Daughter Ashley said: "My dad is a huge fan of Elvis but I really didn't think he'd show up to the cinema dressed as him!
"I thought the days of my dad embarrassing me were over," laughed Ashley.
"When he walked into the cinema everyone gave him a big clap and it even took us about 20 minutes to get to our car after the film ended because loads of people wanted to take a picture with him."
Baz Luhrmann's Elvis tells the tale of the icon's life and journey to fame and misfortune and stars Austin Butler as Elvis and Tom Hanks as his talent manager Colonel Tom Parker.
Ashley added: "Dad sat through the whole film with his wig on and he even was dancing in his seat when the music was playing.
"He loved the film, he already knew a lot about it because he's a massive Elvis fan but he loved the film and how in-depth the film went.
"It was a really well-told story.
"Dad's loving his new found fame and thinks its brilliant people watched the video and wanted pictures with him."
