Captain Marvel’s Brie Larson and Samuel L. Jackson are the latest stars to show off their musical skills for Carpool Karaoke.
In a teaser clip released ahead of today’s full episode, the Marvel colleagues jumped into the famous black SUV to sing their hearts out with a rendition of Ariana Grande’s recent single 7 Rings.
Jackson and Larson, who recently revealed that she’d been listening to Grande’s album Thank U, Next “on loop,” got fully into the spirit of the track with some dramatic hand gestures.
Fans on YouTube couldn’t get enough of this unexpected cover version, describing the short promo as “the video we didn’t know we needed" and branding the duo "hilarious" and "iconic."
“Honestly the two of them together crack me up,” one wrote, while others praised the duo’s hidden vocal talents.
“Omg I’ve never seen anything better than this. Samuel L. Jackson is amazing at singing,” one user said.
“Samuel L. Jackson is everything,” another added.
After their duet, Jackson surprised his co-star by telling her that he wanted to “work on that bond, trust,” before pulling over the car in order to pick up a polygraph operator.
Larson was then hooked up to a lie detector as Jackson proceeded to grill her with a series of probing questions.
“Would you be honest with me if you didn’t like my performance in a scene?” he asked, prompting his co-star to immediately respond: “No! I would not be honest with you, nope.”
The machine revealed that she was telling the truth, though she wasn’t quite so honest when it came to questions about Jackson’s distinctive fashion choices.
“Do you actually like my Kangol hats?” he asked, to which Larson responded in the affirmative.
The examiner revealed her response to be “a lie,” though luckily Jackson, who has played Nick Fury in the Marvel films since 2008, didn’t seem too offended.
The actors also recently showed off their singing voices when they appeared on The Jonathan Ross Show last week, parodying Lady Gaga and Bradley Cooper’s Oscar duet of Shallow from A Star Is Born.
Captain Marvel is released in cinemas on March 8
