A newsreader was caught with his feet up on a desk during a live broadcast by the BBC this evening, with the footage having given viewers a laugh amid political uncertainty.
Reporters have been stationed outside 10 Downing Street today amid resignations within Boris Johnson 's cabinet, with his future as Prime Minister under heavy speculation.
Ros Atkins was among those outside the property earlier, though his broadcast for BBC News unexpectedly cut back to the studio - much to the surprise of its newsreader.
The newsreader - who is understood to be Tim Willcox - was seen looking down at his phone with his feet up on a desk as the feed returned to him whilst Ros was speaking.
Tim appeared to quickly realised that he was on air, with him readjusting and taking off his glasses as the live broadcast went back to Ros for the rest of his report from Downing Street.
The footage was quickly posted onto social media, including by TV critic and broadcaster Scott Bryan - who shared the video with his 82,000 followers on Twitter earlier tonight.
He wrote alongside the video in his tweet: "Incredible scenes.BBC News accidentally cut away to their news studio, showing a presenter with their feet on the desk."
