A desperate search is underway to trace a hiker missing on Ben Nevis for a full day.

Zekun Zhang, 26, was last seen at 1pm on Tuesday, April 11 near the summit of nearby Carn Mor Dearg. It is believed he walked a route from the peak and on to the Ben Nevis Summit.

The hillwalker planned to go back the mountain's North Face car but following his ascent, but he did not return. Zekun has not been seen or heard from since.

He is described as 5ft 8in tall, of a medium build and with short, dark hair. He was wearing a black jacket, black trousers and black grey boots.

Officers say he was also carrying a black rucksack. Anybody who may have seen Zekun is urged to contact police immediately.
