After a solid performance with 20 points against the New York Knicks on Friday, Klay Thompson picked up right where he left off on Sunday against the Houston Rockets.
The sharpshooting guard caught fire early, scoring 20 points in the first quarter on 7-of-9 shooting from the field with four made triples on five attempts from beyond the arc. Thompson finished the first half with 26 points on 9-of-15 from the field with six made 3-pointers.
As the Rockets fought back into the game, Thompson continued to pace the Warriors. The four-time champion came up with nine clutch points in the fourth quarter to slam the door on the Rockets’ comeback and secure Golden State’s first win on the road for the 2022-23 season.
Thompson finished the game with a season-high 41 points on 14-of-23 shooting from the field to go along with four rebounds, three assists and two steals in 35 minutes. Thompson joined Cleveland’s Darius Garland as the only players to make 10 3-pointers in a game during the 2022-23 campaign.
