Highlights: UPSC 2021 result

UPSC 2021 results declared; Shruti Sharma tops

New Delhi: The Civil Services (Preliminary) Examination, 2021 was conducted on 10 October, 2021. A total of 10,93,984 candidates applied for this examination, out of which only 5,08,619 candidates appeared in the examination. 

A total of 9214 candidates qualified for appearance in the Written (Main) Examination which was held in January, 2022. 

In all, 1824 candidates qualified for the Personality Test. 

A total of 685 candidates (508 men and 177 women) have been recommended by the Commission for appointment to various Services. 

The top three ranks are grabbed by women candidates.

Shruti Sharma has secured the first rank in the Civil Services Examination, 2021. She qualified the examination with History as her optional subject. She has graduated in History (Hons.) from University of Delhi. 

Ankita Agarwal, a graduate in Economics (Hons.)  from University of Delhi, secured second rank with Political Science and International Relations as her optional subject.

Gamini Singla, a graduate (BTech) in Computer Science, got third rank with Sociology as her optional subject. 

The top 25 candidates include 15 men and 10 women.

Educational qualifications of top 25 successful candidates range from graduation in Engineering; Humanities; Commerce and Medical Science from premier Institutions of the country such as IIT, AIIMS, VIT, PEC, University of Mumbai, University of Delhi, GB Pant University etc.

Top 25 successful candidates have opted for subjects like Anthropology, Economics, Geography, Hindi Literature, History, Mathematics, Medical Science, Political Science and International Relations, Public Administration, Sociology and Zoology as their optional choice in the Written (Main) Examination.

The recommended candidates also include 25 Persons with Benchmark Disability (07 Orthopedically Handicapped; 05 Visually Challenged, 08 Hearing Impaired and 05 Multiple Disabilities).
