As the Golden State Warriors started slow and fell behind by as many as 20 points to the New Orleans Pelicans in the first half on Tuesday night, Steph Curry kept things afloat for the home team.
Despite trailing by 17 points at halftime, Curry tallied 17 points of his own on 6-of-11 shooting from the field with three made triples to go along with three boards and two assists through the first two quarters. Curry was the only member of the Warriors to tally double-figures in the first half.
In the second half, Curry showed no signs of slowing down as the Warriors mounted a comeback. Alongside Jordan Poole and Klay Thompson, Curry helped fuel a second-half comeback bid for the Warriors.
On his way to a game-high 39-point performance, Curry added another 22 points in the second half with five made triples. Along with a sizzling 39-point effort on 14-of-25 shooting from the field with eight made triples, Curry added eight boards, eight assists and three steals in 37 minutes.
Behind Curry, Poole and Thompson’s second-half heroics, the Warriors secured a much-needed comeback win over the Pelicans on Tuesday night, 120-109.
