TRAIN services on the Highland Mainline will be replaced by buses every weekend for the next month.
Network Rail Scotland is undertaking major engineering works along the line to renew infrastructure.
Passengers travelling between Perth and Inverness will have to take the replacement bus service each weekend until Sunday, December 8.
The Rannoch Road bridge which runs over the railway will also be demolished and replaced.
It has shut as part of the £16.85 million works that will see a new viaduct at the south side open to traffic for the first time.
Switches and crossings will also be replaced as part of a £9m investment. The mechanisms are between Blair Atholl and Carrbridge.
Ross Moran, Network Rail Scotland route director, said: “The investment we’re making will help keep services reliable for years to come.
“We understand that there’s never a good time to close the railway.
“However, these works can only be delivered when trains are not operating on the line. We advise everyone planning on travelling on the route during the works to plan ahead.”
