OP Jindal Global University and University of Virginia have signed an MoU

Washington: University of Virginia (UVA) has signed an MoU with O P Jindal Global University (JGU) to enhance student participation and research opportunities across all its schools and programmes.

"India is the world's largest democracy, with a population larger than that of the US, Europe and Latin America combined," said Stephen Mull, UVA's Vice President for global affairs.

Stephen added, India is home to bright students, researchers and entrepreneurs who want to be a partner in the world's biggest challenges.

Stephen was speaking at the 'India Summit on Education for Life' organized by QS in Goa. Under the 'India Initiative' initiative at UVA, the pact will enable both universities to conduct collaborative research, study and partnerships, and bring together each other's faculty, students and alumni.

According to Dynamite News correspondent, a delegation of UVA will visit the JGU campus in Haryana on 23 February with an aim to enhance the ties between the two Universities.

Raj Kumar, Vice-Chancellor, JGU, said, "The partnership will provide transformative prospects of higher education and learning to students in both the universities and enable our faculty members to pursue joint teaching and collaborative research with a view to advancing the cause of international education and institution building".

The University of Virginia is a public research university in Charlottesville, Virginia. Founded in 1819 by Thomas Jefferson, 3rd President of America, the University is ranked among the top academic institutions in the United States, with highly selective admission.
