Higher results day is fast approaching, which for many is a day mixed with nerves and anticipation. While all the hard work has already been done, many find the day as difficult as the exams they took just months prior.
It can be stressful for parents too, with college and university applications, as well as apprenticeships, depending on results. Because of this, many will want to know what can be done to make results day run as smoothly as possible.
Here is everything you need to know about National 5, Higher and Advanced Higher results this year, as well as what you can do if your grades do not arrive.
What day do the results come out?
Results for National 5, Higher and Advanced Higher courses will come out on Tuesday, August 9.
Results will go out digitally to those who signed up to receive them through text or email between 1am and 9am. Those who did not, will have to wait for them to be delivered in the mail, which will depend on the route of your local postal worker.
With results arriving just three days from now, now would be a good time to check conditions on further and higher education offers so that you know what is needed.
How will I receive my results?
You can receive your results either by text, email or by post. Everyone will eventually get a post copy of their results, which will feature their Scottish Qualification Certificate.
Text and Email results tend to come in quicker, which is why they are a preferred option for many. If you didn't sign up to get results digitally through the MySQA portal in time, and you wish to receive quicker results, you should be sure to do so if you have future school exams.
The SQA asks that you keep your Scottish Qualification Certificate in a safe place, as it acts as proof of your achieved results.
What to do if your results do not arrive
If your text or email does not come through, or if any issues lead to postal disruptions, you can still get a hold of your grades through your school.
If you contact your school or college directly, they can tell you what grades you received. If your certificate still does not arrive, even after you receive your grades, you can call the SQA Candidate Advice line on 0345 279 1000.
