'High risk' man found wandering around Merseyside town

A "high-risk" man was found by police after becoming separated from his family.

Officers as part of Operation Pelican descended on the Sefton coastline as part of the beach safety scheme introduced by Merseyside Police. Quad bikes were deployed between Seaforth and Southport and attended a number of incidents on Bank Holiday Monday (August 29).

One of the incidents saw officers hunt down a high-risk man with dementia in Southport who had gone missing when he had become separated from his family. The man was found a short time later.
