'Hidden' Wirral coffee shop serving ‘the best poached eggs I’ve ever had’

I absolutely love brunch, but sometimes it can be difficult to find somewhere that can perfect a poached egg, but now I've found the best place.

Secrets @ No 7 Coffee Shop is a tiny little café in Bebington that I’ve walked past so many times not realising it’s a breakfast spot. Upon first glance it looks just like a coffee shop serving cakes and drinks, but their menu offers a variety of different hot breakfasts too.

As soon as I walked into Secrets @ No 7 I felt welcomed, although the area is small, it's cosy, comfortable, and a definite quiet spot for locals. After a quick glance at the menu I was amazed at the prices, an eggs benedict was £5.25, a dish I’ve often almost paid £10 for in the city.

I ordered my eggs benedict breakfast with a latte priced at £2.75, and waited in anticipation. Other breakfast items on the menu included everything from sausages on toast to scrambled eggs on toast, sandwiches and even cakes if you’re feeling extra indulgent.

I was absolutely amazed with the size of my latte, it was huge, it tasted perfectly milky with just the right amount of froth and was the perfect drink to accompany my eggs benedict. Let's talk about the star of the show though, because these eggs were seriously the I’d ever had.

(Poached eggs)

My breakfast arrived beautifully presented with fresh chives on top with gloriously thick hollandaise sauce coating my eggs. The muffins were soft and fluffy and my meal even came with a little side salad which was a nice touch (I particularly enjoyed the coleslaw.)

My eggs were absolutely beautiful and so fresh, they had a lovely golden yolk and there was absolutely loads of it! Poached eggs can often be either too hard or too soft, but these were cooked to perfection, and the hollandaise sauce topped it off completely.

As I was tucking into my breakfast (which arrived so quickly) a van of fresh produce pulled up at the café, I wasn’t surprised in the slightest. These eggs definitely weren’t ones you’d buy at your local supermarket, that’s for sure.

My bill came to £8 in total which I think is absolutely amazing considering the sheer quality of the breakfast, and the size of the coffee. I’d usually pay that amount for just one breakfast item in the city, so this hidden gem is really worth it.

Secrets @ No 7 definitely lives up to its name, it’s a secret that everyone needs to know about. I’ll definitely be returning for another breakfast.
