Hidden meaning behind Ianis Hagi's impassioned Rangers vs Celtic celebration

Ianis Hagi produced a moment of magic to fire Rangers ahead against Celtic.

The Romanian playmaker arrowed an effort into the bottom corner after seven minutes to spark wild celebration in the stands at Ibrox.

Hagi then wheeled away in celebration before darting to the touchline and past manager Philippe Clement to direct his impassioned outburst at the stands.

It was a goal his father Gheorghe would have been proud of, and the football icon was in attendance to witness the slick finish.

According to Neil McCann on Sky Sports commentary, Hagi raced to the sideline to celebrate with eyes on his father who took his seat in the director's box for the derby match.

The co-commentator said: "His celebration I think, is for his father who is in the director's box behind us. What a start for Rangers."

Liam Scales' pass was intercepted and allowed Raskin to drive at the box before rolling to his side for Hagi to control and then drive into the bottom corner.
