Knives and needles were found in bushes and at the edge of a park as officers searched its grounds. Police combed Racecourse Park in Mansfield, using metal detectors to search for weapons.
Officers were looking for weapons and knives which may have been "discarded or hidden". Two knives, multiple needles and a rusted tool were found in the grounds on Wednesday, January 25.
This was part of the the national Neighbourhood Policing Week of Action, which aims to highlight the work that neighbourhood officers, police community support officers and volunteers do to protect the public and keep areas safe. Officers said that all items found "have been disposed of correctly".
