With the sunny spring weather slowly but surely on the way, many of us will be looking for the perfect golden hour walk.
It's safe to say that the Wirral isn't short of glorious walks, which is one of the main reasons why I love living here. Some of the best parts of the Wirral, for me, are the various different beaches, particularly Thurstaston Beach.
The beach is overlooked by Wirral Country Park, which is home to lush greenery and plenty of wildlife. It also offers stunning views over the Dee Estuary toward the Welsh hills and beyond that Snowdonia - which is another reason why I love this walk so much.

It's a dog friendly beach consisting of sand and shingle with a gorgeous backdrop of clay cliffs. Every time I visit here, it's always nice and busy without being too overwhelming.
Sometimes a walk with a fair crowd of people can be off-putting, but Thurstaston Beach still manages to have a calming atmosphere despite the number of people who also have the good idea to venture out for some well needed vitamin D. The first time I visited here was on New Year's Day, and despite there being a brisk chill in the air, it was still a magical experience.
The Thurstaston Beach walk truly took my breath away, and since then, I've always wanted to come back. I really wanted to visit the beach when the weather was warmer, so I made it my mission to enjoy golden hour at the popular beach spot.
As expected, the beach was super busy, with many visitors sat in the golden sand eating takeaway pizzas and sipping on tinned cocktails. As the sun set, the whole beach became a glorious golden colour - and it was truly amazing.
It made for the perfect photo oppurtunity, and despite the beach having lots of people enjoying the fading sunbeams, it still felt calm and quiet. As the sun finally set I actually found myself feeling disappointed because I was enjoying my time at Thurstaston Beach so much.
It's clear to see why the beach is always so busy, because it offers a perfect rustic beach walk in all of its beauty. The beach also has an adorable coffee shop close by called Flissys, which serves scrumptious ice cream, cake and light lunch options.
