With demand soaring, a hidden gem gin school in the Barras is launching a series of evening Gin School classes later this month.
Adding more dates to their Gin School calendar, they will be test-running the evening gin-making classes in February, to join their afternoon Gin School classes on Fridays and Saturdays, after seeing most of their dates booked up until June.
With the increased volume of vouchers sold over Christmas, the team said they would like to allow more people to create their own gin as soon as possible.
By the end of February, their Friday evening classes are scheduled to run from 6.30 pm in a bid to suit customers who work during the week and give them enough time to get a quick bite before heading down to their distillery in the East End.

Designed to create the "most hands-on in-depth gin experience" in Glasgow, the classes allow gin fans to learn about the history of the spirit, before being taken on a tutored tasting of the Crossbill range.
Crossbill’s distiller will then help guests select their own botanicals and distil these in a copper pot still, before they bottle, label and wax seal their unique creation to take away and enjoy.
A spokesperson for the gin school said: "Make yourself at home in a relaxed, comfortable atmosphere. Enjoy a tutored tasting and a gin-making class next to the famous Barras market, which has recently gone through a complete revamp. A perfect way to kick off your weekend."
The Distilling Experience consists of:
- 2-3 hour Gin masterclass for two people
- Tutored Gin tasting for two people
- 1 x bespoke 50cl bottle of your own recipe gin per booking
- Lifetime discount available after the session
- Option of re-ordering your recipe gin
Located at BAaD (The Barras Art and Design Centre) Crossbill offers Tastings (£10 per person), Distilling classes (£110 per couple) and Blending classes (£60 per person), with the team adding that advance booking online is advised to secure your preferred time and date.
