Properties for rent in and around Bristol are still being snapped up as the rental market remains buoyant, with demand exceeding supply. Agents said a well-priced property may be gone within a couple of hours, while others may be on the market for only up to a week.
We looked for some hidden gems on the market for £1,000 or under and while many were house shares for students or poky studios, there were some one- and two-bedroom properties offering more space. By the time of reading they may have been taken already, but this provides an idea of what’s on offer and how far the budget will stretch if you're quick.
The first property is a two bed cottage on Bedminster Down Road for £1,000 a month. The property is handled by Alexander May and described as having just being refurbished, with a lounge, modern kitchen in white with black worktops and a shower over the bath.

The spacious double bedroom is at the back of the home and has loads of natural light. The second bedroom could be for guests or used as an office and it would suit a professional couple.
The second gem is a one-bed terrace on Rowlands Avenue in BS16 with agents Let’s Rent for £995 per month, described as ‘rarely on offer’ in this family location. It is furnished with double glazed windows and has gas central heating.
It overlooks Eastville Park and the River Avon and has a lounge leading into a modern fitted kitchen, with the agent saying it has a ‘good-sized bedroom’ upstairs. It also has a small garden and is close to shops.
The next property is in Cumberland Road BS1 for £900 per month with Howard estate agency and which is described as furnished, being “decorated to a very high standard and has a warm contemporary feel. There is a bright and spacious open plan kitchen/living room with white goods included".
The bedroom is to the rear of the property with a fully fitted bathroom suite and it has gas heating. It is also close to the city centre and Harbourside.
To get a little more bang for your buck, a two double bedroom home for a couple or a small family is up for rent in Ormonds Close, Bradley Stoke for £1000 per month, with CJ Hole estate agents. Unfurnished, it has a separate living room, kitchen/diner and a small garden at the back.
It has two double bedrooms upstairs and a shower over the bath in a family bathroom. There is also a parking space allocated in a car park behind the property and is close to The Willowbrook Shopping Centre.
