Hidden Edinburgh cinema goes viral with vintage couches and champagne slushies

A hidden Edinburgh cinema has gone viral after locals were given a behind the scenes look at the vintage venue.

Tucked away under the Scotsman hotel, the incredible and romantic venue was brought into the spotlight after a clip of it went viral on TikTok.

Posted by popular Edinburgh food blogger Pippa Perriam, known as @eatinburgh, the TikTok user shared their experience of the Scotsman Picturehouse, which they joked looked like something "out of a Wes Anderson film".

After heading to the basement of the classic city centre hotel, guests are treated to a stunning art-deco bar, where they can pick up a drink of their choice.

While filming the clip, which now has over 450,000 views, Pippa from @eatinburgh shared that the site even has champagne slushies for those fancying a drink.

The screen itself has been carefully restored, with a series of vintage red chairs, each of which come with their own individual table and lamp.

With popcorn included in the price of the ticket, the cinema quickly proved popular online, with the video receiving over 53,000 likes and 600 comments.

One user replied: "How have I lived in Edinburgh for 25 years and I've just found out about this!"

Another said: "It looks so nice now they have done it all up!"
