Hibs XI v Rangers confirmed as Martin Boyle decision made and makeshift left-back thrown in

Lee Johnson has named his Hibs XI that will take on Rangers this afternoon.

It's the latest Premiership assignment for the Hibees, who after the highs of a last-minute Martin Boyle leveller in the Edinburgh derby versus Hearts, lost to Livingston 2-1 last Saturday. Hibs haven't won against Rangers at Easter Road in a Premiership match since 2006 and the Leith club will be keen to ensure it changes today.

They'll know the dangers that can be presented to their opponents though after Martin Boyle put them to the sword last year in Premier Sports Cup semi-final action. He has returned to the club from Al-Faisaly and has been limited to sub appearances so far, with boss Johnson selecting him to start against a club he scored a hat-trick against in last season's Hampden showpiece. Left-back Marijan Cabraja features on the bench after a family bereavement earlier this week.

Lewis Stevenson and Demetri Mitchell are also out in that position so it means a make-shift option of right-back Chris Cadden is on the left with Rocky Bushiri returning to the defence after injury.

Midfielder Joe Newell starts and he said ahead of kick-off: "We have come into this week with enthusiasm and the right mindset in training. That is important to make sure we bounce back quickly."

Hibs XI: Marshall, Bushiri, Porteous, Hanlon, Cadden, Campbell, Doyle-Hayes, Newell, Henderson, Boyle, Youan.

Subs: Dabrowski, Miller, Cabraja, Kenneh, Doidge, Jair, Bojang, McGregor, McLelland.
