Hibs v St Johnstone gets PPV treatment ahead of historic VAR introduction at Easter Road

Hibs have taken up the option to screen their match with St Johnstone on Friday night via pay-per-view.

Clubs in Scotland's Premiership now have an option to broadcast matches that fall outside the 3pm blackout zone as part of the new Sky Sports TV deal. The Easter Road club will price the match at £10 with very few tickets remaining to attend the match in person after they slashed costs for this historic occasion.

It will be the first time VAR(video assistant referee) will be used in a domestic Scottish game, with Hibs kicking off against Callum Davidson's side a day before some other top flight sides. Leith boss Lee Johnson is looking forward to the game and is happy for his side to be playing a part in a momentous occasion. He explained: "We know we can compete in these games. It's a big one. Friday night under the lights.

"There will be a few entertainment factors that will be different and that fans will like to see, so get here early. It's near a sell-out.

"That is great. It is historic in the sense that VAR's first game within Scottish football is with us. I am excited for the long-term justice element of it.

"I think that is really important. Particularly when managers lose their jobs on bad decisions, which has absolutely happened in the past."
