Hibs v Hearts rescheduled as Sky Sports select new date for Edinburgh derby live broadcast

Hibs' clash with Hearts will be shown live on Sky Sports when the pair meet in the first Premiership Edinburgh derby of the season.

Originally scheduled for Saturday August 6th with a 3pm kick-off, proceedings at Easter Road will now begin at 12pm on the 7th. It will be shown by the SPFL's broadcasting partner with both Hibees boss Lee Johnson and Jambos manager Robbie Neilson looking for early season bragging rights. The switch does means another Sunday fixture for Hearts.

From mid-August, the Tynecastle side side will face a Thursday-Sunday schedule most weeks due to their involvement in European group stage football after their third place league finish last season, competing in either in the Europa League or the Europa Conference League. Hearts went undefeated against their rivals last season, drawing 0-0 both home and away prior to a 3-1 win home win March that secured third position in the league and put Hibs into the bottom six.

More misery was piled on the Hibees by their rivals a week later when the Tynecastle side won their Scottish Cup semi-final 2-1.

Johnson's side face Rangers on August 20th now with a 12:30pm kick-off with that Easter Road match also selected for Sky coverage.

Ross County at home is how the Jambos begin their season while Hibs are on the road to St Johnstone.
