Hibs starting XI v Livingston confirmed with Boyle, Hanlon and Tavares decisions made

Hibs have named their starting XI that will take on Livingston in their third Premiership of the season.

The club head into this one in a positive mood after Martin Boyle's return to the club was capped off with a last-gasp leveller in a 1-1 draw with fierce rivals Hearts last weekend. He has to settle for a spot on the bench again though with Jair Tavares, Elie Youan and Elias Melkersen picked as the attacking options from the get go.

David Marshall takes his usual role between the sticks and there's a return in central defence for Paul Hanlon after an injury at the end of last season. He partners Ryan Porteous with Chris Cadden in the right full-back role and Marijan Cabraja on the other side. Nohan Kenneh, Joe Newell and Ewan Henderson are natural central midfield options boss Lee Johnson has opted to go with against Livingston.

A win here would see Hibs open up their league account for the season with seven points from nine. Johnson is in a positive mood ahead of it.

He said: “Training has been excellent. We’re always trying to drive and improve performance. The Hearts game was a great moment for us. There were moments in the game where we needed to be better and moments where we showed what we’ve got.”

Hibs XI: Marshall, Cadden, Porteous, Hanlon, Cabraja, Henderson, Kenneh, Newell, Tavares, Youan, Melkersen.

Subs: Dabrowskie, Miller, Doyle-Hayes, Doidge, Bojang, McGregor, McClelland, MacIntyre, Boyle.
