Hibs star Paul McGinn earns one-year contract extension after triggering clause

Paul McGinn has earned a new one-year contract at Hibs.

The Easter Road star triggered an extension due to his number of appearances last season report Edinburgh Evening News.

His old deal was set to expire next month with uncertainty over his future growing.

But he will be part of Lee Johnson's squad next season with his future sorted until next summer.

The Scotland international managed 34 appearances last term contributing three goals and four assists.

He suffered from injury problems and spent time on the sidelines as the Hibees ended the campaign in the bottom half.

It's a new era after Johnson was officially announced as Shaun Maloney's successor in the capital.

And the former Sunderland boss has already been busy brining in two new players on pre-contract deals.
