Hibernian have become the latest Scottish Premiership club to cut away ticket allocations — with Rangers fans the latest to feel the squeeze.
The Ibrox side will take just 1,500 supporters to Easter Road for the final game of the league season on May 17, a significant drop from the 3,800 tickets usually made available for trips to Leith.
It’s another flashpoint in the ongoing battle over away ends across the top flight, as clubs increasingly look to capitalise on surging home demand — and with Hibs flying high under manager David Gray, the scramble for seats is at fever pitch.
The Edinburgh side are unbeaten in 17 Premiership outings and haven’t lost at home since November, with a third-place finish firmly in their sights.

If the race with chasers Aberdeen and Dundee United goes the distance, the stage is set for a blockbuster finale in the capital when Rangers come calling.
But it’s not just the Light Blues who are set to be affected. Aberdeen have followed suit ahead of Hibs’ trip to Pittodrie later this month, with the Dons handing Gray’s side just over 700 tickets for the April 26 fixture — another sharp reduction from the norm.
Hibs chiefs, meanwhile, have responded to the clamour from their own by reclaiming parts of the South Stand typically reserved for away supporters, opening them up to home fans for the Rangers clash as well as the visit of Dundee United on May 3.
It marks the latest chapter in a trend that’s sparked plenty of debate across Scottish football, with clubs weighing up tradition against the realities of modern ticket demand.

“The special atmosphere at Easter Road, combined with the team’s incredible run of form, has seen a greater demand for home tickets, with additional tickets being made available in the South Stand for our previous two games against St Johnstone and Dundee.
"As we look to create a raucous atmosphere for our final two home fixtures of the season, we have reduced our opponents’ away allocations to provide more tickets to Hibernian FC supporters!
"For both games against Dundee United and Rangers, Hibs supporters can purchase tickets in the South Stand.

"As we look to end the season on a high, we know how important your support will be, and we’d urge as many supporters to get to Easter Road to back David Gray and his players."
