Former Hamilton midfielder Alex Gogic says he had multiple choices when choosing to leave Hibs - but St Mirren was the right place for him.
The Cypriot international joined the Buddies on deadline day on loan from Hibs until the end of the season.
Gogic joined the Easter Road side in 2020 after a fruitful spell at Hamilton, where he became a fan favourite after his 2017 arrival.
84 appearances at Accies endeared himself to the fans but an appearance from the bench on his debut did the same at St Mirren, scoring a header in the 1-1 draw with Motherwell on Wednesday.
There were other places he could have gone after it became clear minutes were to be limited at Hibs, but Saints is best for Gogic.
He said: “It would have been a perfect start but that’s football and we dropped two points. To be honest, I was just happy to be able to get going again after not playing for six weeks.
“The previous 24 hours had been hectic. I’d trained in the morning with Hibs, said my goodbyes and then it was a late deal to come here.
“I’m just happy it went through because I want to play football. Jim had been in touch and there were a few other offers I’d been waiting for but they weren’t right for me in the way that this one was.
“We started talking about the move on Friday and I’m relieved that we got it done. Getting a goal was great but I just wish it had been a win.”
