Hibs are close to signing Dinamo Zagreb left-back Marijan Cabraja as a rapid replacment for Italy-bound star Josh Doig.
The Hibees defender has had a fine two years of senior football at Easter Road and has travelled to Italy to undergo a medical with Stadio Marcantonio Bentegodi outfit Hellas Verona for a seven-figure sum. His move will pave the way for Cabraja to move to Leith under boss Lee Johnson, according to the Edinburgh Evening News, in a full-back bolstering.
Without Doig, Hibs have soon-to-be 35-year-old Lewis Stevenson to call upon and Demi Mitchell is still to make his comeback for the new season, missing Saturday's Premier Sports Cup opener against Clyde. 25-year-old Cabraja came through the Dinamo Zagreb youth system and featured more than 50 times for the club’s B team before joining Gorica four years ago. Good form there and playing 80 times sealed his return to Dinamo last year, under contract until 2026.

He ended up spending time on loan at Hungarian side Ferencvaros after falling out of favour and could now depart Croatia permanently.
The players is 'due to travel to Edinburgh this week to complete his medical tests and finalise terms on a three-year deal' according to reports.
Dinamo won't be paid a transfer fee but will earn a percentage of any future transfer, a deal similar to the one that saw Jair Tavares swap Benfica for Hibs earlier this summer.
