Hibs hero Martin Boyle lifts lid on macaroni & chips meal prior to Hearts derby call

Martin Boyle reflects on swift Scottish football return as Hibs hero lifts lid on macaroni meal prior to Hearts derby call

MARTIN BOYLE has revealed that he was tucking into some macaroni and chips when he found out he'd play in Sunday's Edinburgh derby.

The winger netted a sensational last-minute leveller against Hearts in his Hibs homecoming.

He officially re-joined the Easter Road club on Saturday morning.

Boyle left for Saudi Arabia in a £3million deal in January, as he swapped the Premiership for life-changing money in the Middle East.

Things turned sour though, with Al-Faisaly relegated at the end of the season.

The 29-year-old is back at Hibs now though, and as if he wasn't enough of a hero amongst the club's supporters, the last-minute equaliser against the Jambos just further cements that status.

Asked when he found out he'd be featuring in the match, the Aussie international responded: "Last night, after my homemade macaroni and chips.

"That’s when I went into panic mode and headed to Asda for a few bottles of water and a strawberry Yazoo! There’s nothing like Scottish football, is there?"
