Hibs find a new talisman in St Mirren win but concerns arise over Boyle - 3 things we learned

Hibs got back to winning ways in the Premiership with an impressive 3-0 triumph over St Mirren.

The Hibees were in a clinical mood during a fast-paced match at Easter Road and had a goal chalked off by VAR in the first half. Mykola Kukharevych didn't let that disappointment dent his confidence though and responded with another strike which did count.

Martin Boyle had netted from the penalty spot to put his team ahead prior to the Ukrainian forward's goal but concern has arose as he was shortly subbed off with a suspected knee injury. Lee Johnson's men had lost three on the spin coming into this one but they managed to rally after their talisman's departure from play and Ewan Henderson scored a wonderful goal to ensure maximum points stay in Leith. Here are three things we learned as Buddies boss Stephen Robinson is left to wait for his first win away at Hibs.

Boyle blow

It was a bittersweet afternoon for the winger. He got in amongst the goals but his day was soon dampened by injury.

He's been a key member of the Australia squad that is going to the World Cup and he will be desperate to be fit for that huge tournament.

Kukharevych hot streak

It's starting to look like the Ukrainian striker might be a key player for the way Johnson wants this side to play.

He is the focal point and is a mobile targetman. His performances before the goals were strong and now he's adding the final touch.

Positive response

A frantic game on a losing streak against a team you have already lost to this season. This was a big test for the Hibees.

They had to show their mettle and not let a poor run turn into a slump but they did so in emphatic fashion against a side also battling for European placement.
