Lee Johnson says Hibs’ hunt for a director of football is almost done.
The Easter Road boss expects an appointment shortly as chief executive Ben Kensell whittles down a shortlist of five. Johnson said: “I know the club have interviewed a number of very strong candidates in terms of name and CV. That’s been interesting to look at from afar. It’s going very well. The plan is to narrow it down over the next couple of weeks, probably conduct a second interview. Then potentially I’ll have conversations with those guys to see how we’ll work together and go from there. Then we’ll make an appointment, certainly before the summer.”
Johnson admits he is looking forward to getting fresh input. He said: “Part of the interview process, they will be asked what they have seen and would expect to change. That is interesting, to get someone with a fresh set of eyes on it, who has done their due diligence properly.”
